Day 2
The Golden Calf Technologies
During which mythic hygiene is explored
As an experimental therapy
For addressing amythic death anxiety
Synopsis
When I woke up, I saw the note that I had left for myself: “Remember, you are participating in an orientation workshop.” From the community’s perspective, I was preparing myself for global collaborative problem solving – by first addressing my own amythic death anxiety. I was thus diagnosed, although I remained sceptical: Is this a condition in search of patients, victims, clients, cult members?
Metaphorically, we were being asked to imagine participating in a colloquium at the base of Mount Sinai – after the massacre had taken place. In reality, we were inside the Golden Calf Elevator & Café, a virtual environment facilitated by one’s Master of Scenarios.
Today, we began more intensive mythic hygiene, using the Golden Calf technologies. We re-envisioned personal, family and culture myths, and explored possible root causes of amythic death anxiety – and human evil. An empty chair and a piece of bread took on new meaning. I also returned to my first experience with Mom’s project. At the end of day, were asked to give a name to our emerging mythic perspective. I began calling mine Absurdist Judaism.
