Mazel Spicehandler

The Spicehandler triplets fled Spain and then Poland after sixteen generations there. Only one daughter, Mazel, survives those pogroms. She migrates to the USA and marries. Her great-grand-daughter marries a bastard but escapes to a small island off mainland New Zealand where now she walks her Polski hound, Mazel, on Onetangi Beach. 

Mazel pulls at her leash as her person pauses to read a genealogy report that just arrived on her phone. A close genetic relative, her same age, also enjoys walking her dog in the surf, on a small island off the coast of Auckland. Not luck, but family.
